Yesterday was the first day of the summer movies we bought tickets to through Dylan's school. It's such a good idea...the movie theaters show previously released movies once a week for ten weeks during the summer. Savannah is free and I think it costs me & Dylan something like $.50 a movie! Plus it gives us an activity to do out of the heat.
I have to admit something....this was the first time for me to take either of my kids to a movie theater!! It's hard to believe, but I guess we just take them to do other things. I was a little nervous about how Savannah would behave because you never know if she will like a show or not. It was a Clifford movie and they both did great!!
It was a mad house when the movie let out. There were three theaters full of moms with kids....talk about noise! Anyway, we saw two little boys and their moms from Dylan's soccer team and another family from her school. It seems that between Dylan's school, her soccer team and our neighborhood we run into people we know all the time. It makes me so happy because this was exactly the community feel we wanted with our move. :)
Here are my two sweet little ladies before the movie started!
After the movie, we came home to rest for a little bit and then got ready for the pool! We met one of Dylan's friends from school, her mom and little sister at one of their community pools and I was in heaven!! This was our first time to a pool this summer and it worked out great. I hope to get back often this summer. They had a separate kids area so while they were playing in there we could sit back and relax. They actually did great in the big pool too. Dylan and Sydney would get their floats, hold hands and swim all over - so cute! Of course Savannah saw this and had to do it too - & guess what she could! They loved the water so much and had a blast. Savannah picked right up where she left off last summer and loved jumping in off the side of the pool. We went to the pool quite a bit last summer while in the apartment, but I guess Savannah was too little to remember. On our way she said, "Mommy, what's a swimming pool?" I didn't take a single picture because I was too busy soaking in the sun!
