I'm a fanatic about taking pictures and videos of my kids. Just ask my husband....and my computer. I hope to become a more consistent blogger again. Our computer was just too slow and I didn't have the time nor patience to mess with it. Several weeks ago Justin removed literally thousands of pictures and things got a little better, but it didn't clear up near as much space as we thought. Things were crazy, busy for us there for a while and now that we've slowed down a bit Justin realized I had something like 800 videos on here. Whoops! So now that those are off here things are much quicker. :)
Anyways, I posted Dylan's first day of Kindergarten a long time ago, but I wanted to talk about how blessed we are to have her at that school. It is phenomenal and they have addressed every detail in making her experience there wonderful. She LOVES her teacher, Mrs. Perry. They have dress up quite a bit for different things, but last week they had Hero Day. Needless to say, Dylan went as Mrs. Perry and it was so CUTE. During the school day I got a picture and text from her teacher saying it made her day. So sweet. I had a parent teacher conference a few weeks ago. They do this in lieu of report cards for Kindergartners the first six weeks. Mrs. Perry said Dylan was an angel and she loved having her in class. We went over some testing they did and Dylan is already reading at a level satisfactory for the end of the year. We found out she is the #2 reader in her class and #1 student overall. Plus she gets the highest marks for behavior all the time. We couldn't be more proud of our little student.
Her behavior at home on the other hand hasn't been quite as stellar- ha! BUT we would much rather her act out with us than away from home. I'm chalking it up to a stage/adjusting to a new sibling or school starting/something. :)
Something I haven't blogged was Savannah started preschool. She is going to the same church Dylan did and she LOVES it. She has a tendency to not be as outgoing around strangers plus she'd always been home with me so I was a little apprehensive about how she would adjust. She did great! From the first day, she was so excited to come home and tell us about her day and all she got to do. She tells us way more than Dylan did at that age. I think part of it is that she watched and heard Dylan's experiences and she is so excited to have stories of her own to tell. She has made quite a few friends. She started off with just the girls, but is now branching out to the boys. The kids take turns being the line leader for the day. They make a big deal out of it and they get to lead the class to their different activities, bring the snacks for the day, hold the flag for the Pledge of Allegiance, put the date on the calendar and get to pick a friend to eat at the 'special' table with you during snack and lunch. They worked it to where Savannah was line leader for the first time right around her Birthday so they also sang Happy Birthday to her. She was one happy girl!
She is SO funny. Let's just say she doesn't have a confidence problem.... in any area. She loves to brag about how good she is...at everything. We are working with her gently on that, but it cracks me up because every day I pick her up she has something funny to tell me. She loves to tell me how much the boys like what she wears. Here was our conversation on picture day...
Savannah: Owen got embarrased because he thought my dress was so pretty that he had to marry me!
Me: Did he say he wanted to marry you?
Savannah: No
Me: Did he say your dress was pretty?
Savannah: No
Me: Did he look at your dress?
Savannah: Yes
Me: Oh, ok!
hahahaha! It's something similar about some item she is wearing everyday, but that was the only time marriage was mentioned. Silly girl!!
Getting her stuff all arranged

I followed them to Spanish to sneak a quick picture!
