This year we started the Elf on the Shelf tradition. For those of you not familiar with this, there's a little book along with an elf. The book tells the story of how the elf watches children's behavior all day and then reports to Santa at night while they are sleeping. When he comes back he's in a different spot and it's a game when you wake to find him. I'm going to attempt to take pictures of them finding him every morning and capture their reaction, but no promises! This morning the elf brought them gifts. I think this may have been a mistake - now they think they are going to get gifts every morning! I tried to emphasize I thought the elf was just trying to kick off the holiday season. Ha!
Oh, and also the book talks about how we are not allowed to touch Simon (the girls chose his name) because it would take away his magic and he wouldn't be able to fly to Santa. Notice how they are keeping their distance? It's so cute!
