We Are In!

We have been in the house for about a week now.  We've been busy, busy unpacking and organizing.  We are so fortunate to have such wonderful family to help us out and make our lives a little easier.  Last Tuesday we closed on the house and Sue kept the girls.  That night Justin & I loaded up 3 cars worth of stuff out of the apartment like hanging clothes, breakables and other things we didn't want the movers taking.  Sue drove the third car and then kept the girls occupied while Justin & I unloaded everything.

Again, Sue kept the girls Thursday morning while I was supervising the movers loading up the apartment, leading them to the house, and directing them where to put things as they were unloading.  We had 2 PODs stored with things we didn't take to the apartment.  They were supposed to be delivered Thursday morning so that the movers could unload them as soon as they were done with the apartment move.  Instead PODs decided to be a pain and didn't deliver on time.  I think we finally got the second one about 7:30 that night.  Luckily, we had great movers that adjusted to everything and agreed to come back the next day.

As soon as things were unloaded on Friday, Justin and I worked to get as much done as possible while my parents were driving in from Amarillo.  As soon as they got in town we tried a little Mexican food restaurant nearby and it turned out to be really good!

Saturday morning my mom packed up the girls, took them shopping for cowgirl boots and then to my aunt and uncle's to swim.  My uncle Steve headed over here that morning to help the rest of us work.  We worked so fast to get as many boxes emptied as possible.  We unpacked a ton.  Steve was loading our box trash into the bed of this truck and had to go dump it three times.  We got the china cabinet and kitchen stuff put away and then the rest we just stuck places.  It was such a help for my mom and Gail to keep the girls busy so we could concentrate.  We went nonstop for a few hours and then reached a stopping point and started drinking!  Mom, Gail and the girls drove over for dinner - our first time to cook in the house.

I have to insert a funny story right quick.  My mom worked Saturday morning to get the girls packed up. She got the swim bag, sunscreen, floaties, a change of clothes, diapers, swim diapers, wipes...guess what she forgot???  Swimsuits!

On Sunday, Jeff, Angel & Cameron came over for the Tech football game.  Justin was happy to watch on his new t.v.!  We worked on the house until they got here and then took a break for the rest of the day.  Cameron spent the night & the girls had so much fun.

Monday we drove over to take Cameron home and dropped off our girls as well.  Jeff and Angel watched them so Justin & I could go to IKEA.  We were in desperate need of playroom shelves.  I forgot to take pictures of the before, but you literally could not walk through.  They had every piece of every doll, game, toy, etc spread out everywhere.  We worked about 4 hours organizing it and it turned out great.  It is the only room that is organized so it's all I'm posting pictures of!!
