Catching Up

I've been lazy. Very lazy. Too lazy to charge the camera battery lazy. I think my laziness is over now so here's a recap of the last week or so....

First off, my great friend Amber was in town so the girls and I met up with her and her friend Sheila for lunch at Grand Lux (yum!). Genius me failed to think things through... Grand Lux = Mall = Shopping = Stroller Needed! But I was determined to spend as much time as possible with them so we spent several hours at the Galleria with the three of us taking turns hauling around Savannah's little butt. Dylan was a very good girl and walked the whole time. The only minor issue with her was that they had a stage set up in the middle of the mall for a fashion show and Dylan thought she belonged on it. I made the mistake of letting her on & then she did not want to get off!

So while I've been lazy for the most part my husband has been busy! He tore out our bathroom floor, laid new tile and installed a new toilet. Our house isn't that old, but the toilet had to go! Somehow the bottom of the bowl was corroded away. We didn't realize the extent until we put some of that blue toilet bowl cleaner in & found it all on the floor the next day. We had travertine tile before and since that is a naturally porous material there was no getting the blue up! Justin did such a good job. When we first got our house we'd do a project like this just about once a month and I'd help out quite a bit. Our projects have slowed significantly now that we have kiddos, but he had the itch this week. It was really the first big project that I didn't help at all! The only thing I did was buy the tile. He's so talented... I have my own personal handy-man. That's why I married him. Ha - not really, but it is a nice perk.

Here's the new tile. I'm so happy with the end result.

Next up for the bathroom is painting the ceiling. It would have been wise to do the ceiling before the new floors, but the toilet issue needed to be addressed. We plan to paint the top portion of the walls and ceiling red. Here's a picture of the ledge that will be included.
And here's the colors we are trying to decide between. Actually the first 4 have been eliminated, but I haven't taken them down yet. Told you I've been lazy!

One thing I did manage to get done this week was an Easter picture of the girls. It was just about impossible to decide on a picture and I was very tempted to buy a big package with lots of poses, but I controlled myself! I did end up buying an individual picture of Savannah because we hadn't had any professional pictures of her made since January and she's changed so much. Here's a peek at the pictures.

The girls are so sweet together and have spent a lot of time playing in Dylan's room.

And one last thing. We went to eat lunch at Firehouse Subs (again - yum!). Dylan gets a firehat with her meal. Not only did she wear her hat the entire meal, but she was too cool to take off her shades. :)
