Catching Up

SO much has happened since my last update.  I haven't been a dedicated blogger this summer, but I kind of have a good reason.  Our computer is completely full so I can't download any of our pictures.  We've backed up our pictures and videos on an external hard drive, but also want to back them up on disk before we start deleting them off the computer.  We haven't gotten around to that second step yet!
My parents took us on the most wonderful trip to Disneyland.  The girls loved every second and were just amazed.  It was so, so fun getting to experience that with them.  We had such a great time & have a TON of pictures.  I'll post them...someday!  Mr. Adam stayed home with Sue and Katie.  He was a good little boy from what I hear!
Dylan lost her second tooth and is getting geared up for Kindergarten.  She says she is most excited about homework - silly girl.  Earlier on in the summer she was being quite a handful.  I thought maybe it was God's way of preparing me to let her go off to Kindergarten without it breaking my heart.  Well, that thought didn't hold true.  Knock on wood, she has pretty much been the absolute perfect child.  I am going to miss her so much!!  Next week (her last week before school), the girls will be in Amarillo. That means this is my last week with her before she is officially a big girl.  We are packing it full of lots of fun kid activities and trying to make every day extra special.  This morning we went to our new Kroger (our obsession) and picked out doughnuts to eat at the park.  We had to go early before it was too HOT!  Tomorrow we are headed to the pool and to our new McDonald's.  The girls waited patiently watching it go up and now they are obsessed!  I'm working on planning a play date at our house with some of the other kids that will start school with Dylan.  I promised them lunch and rides at the mall as well as swimming at a friends house.  I think they will have a pretty fun week!
Savannah has been really good as well lately.  She continues to LOVE on Adam constantly.  She is such a great big sister.  She will start preschool in a few weeks.  I'm not sure that she's super excited about the school part, but she does love being a big girl like Dylan.  She has suddenly gotten so sassy!! She puts her hands on her hips, sticks her hip to the side and talks like a teenager.  Justin & I can't help but laugh!  We are still working on some of her speech and plan to get her tested at the elementary school again soon.  She is super smart, but for whatever reason (when not being sassy) she has reverted back to making noises instead of using words.  Today she told me she would talk when she was at school, but not at home.  Stinker!
The girls absolutely fell in love with the Olympics. Savannah got so excited anytime she say the rings on anything.  I was watching a show yesterday in my bedroom and she came in to ask me why I wasn't watching Olympics with them....like I was some sort of freak!  During one of the men's volleyball games Dylan got so excited and told Justin she thought she was going to cry when they won.
Adam is a rolling machine.  He does it instantly when you lay him down.  He continues to be the happiest, sweetest baby!  He gets so excited with any kind of attention and just smiles and laughs all the time. This past weekend was his baby dedication and he, of course, was adorable.  He was also really into the tissue paper in his gifts so I think Christmas will be fun!  He's started on baby food, but seems much more interested in table food.  He has sampled our refried beans, mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese sauce & ice cream.  The other day at dinner he was trying his hardest to grab Savannah's corn cob!  I think he will be one that goes straight to solids as soon as he figures out chewing.  After being a decent sleeper his entire life, he started waking up all throughout the night.  He'd sleep in my arms and wake up crying as soon as I tried to put him in the pack & play in our room.  As sad as I was to move my last baby out of my room, I was ready for some sleep.  The little guy got moved up to his crib right at about 5 1/2 months and does great.  He takes a big bottle before bed and stays up their most of the night.  I'm sure he could go the whole night, but for now I am happy to run up to get him. :)  Last night he slept his longest stretch from 10 - 7!
I think that somewhat catches us up.  Maybe we will get the picture thing done soon because we have lots of cute new ones!
