My mom was in town for meetings, but was able to stay with us Friday night. We lucked out because she took us to Kobeya. It was our first time at a hibachi in forever. Dylan remembered going before, but it was so long ago we can't remember for sure if Savannah was a baby or even born yet! They loved it!!
Savannah mostly ate salad. I think next time we would just get salad and fried rice for her. Dylan on the other hand LOVED the soup and wanted to eat every last drop.
They both used chop sticks.
Look how much Dylan ate! She had a pretty full plate...the girl loves her shrimp!
Saturday, Dylan had her last soccer game of the season. Her sweet aunts, uncle and cousins came to cheer her on. Afterwards, everyone headed to our house for dinner. I stayed with the girls a little longer because they had a little end of the season party. Dylan let Savannah share her chair.
Dylan and Coach Abe. He is a soccer player himself and was so good with the little girls. Dylan improved so much and wants to play for him again next season.
Yesterday was church, then brunch with Lauren and Collin. We came home and had a day at home. Justin worked upstairs getting Rock Band and surround sound hooked up in the playroom. I painted the fireplace. When we built this house, we went with the builder basic fireplace because any upgrade we would have wanted was ridiculously expensive. We still plan to upgrade it at some point down the road, probably with stone, but for now we decided this was a cheap fix that kept it from looking so boring.
Here's the before. It wasn't bad and actually looks good with the fall decor, but.... I changed it anyway!
All taped off and ready to go!
Drying...
All done! I plan to start looking for some kind of freestanding screen, but the dimensions are a little different to work with since there's no hearth...
I like the result. It's hard to tell in the picture, but it gave that side of the room a little pop.
I can't wait to see what it looks like with Christmas decorations soon!
