Lenny Rose

Well April started out with a bang.  Michelle wasn't due until May, but all along I thought she would be an April baby.  Michelle is so tiny I didn't see how she would carry a baby that long.  Little did we know she'd be 5 weeks early!  Michelle hadn't felt well and had blood pressure issues.  I got the call on April 3rd that she was being admitted to the hospital to start the inducement process.  She wasn't supposed to be formally induced until the morning of the 4th so I booked a flight early that morning.  Justin had to work and the girls had school and Disney on Ice.
I was just about the leave the house at 6 a.m. when my mom called to inform me she was already here.  Michelle had to have a c-section shortly before.

First family photo.

I was sad to not be there, but very thankful everyone was safe and that I was still on my way.
Adam got to go on his first plane ride.  I have to say he was pretty good and very cute!
Little Miss Lenny was born teeny tiny at 4 lbs, 5 oz.  She gave us all a good scare, but she's a mighty little thing.  Savannah was under 6 lbs when we brought her home from the hospital which seemed pretty small, but the difference in size was crazy.  Lenny was the smallest baby I'd ever seen!  I got to go back to the NICU to see her and the first several times, we couldn't touch her.  It was ridiculously hard not to reach out and touch her.  She just had to lay there all by herself and it took a lot of self control not to reach out and at least touch a toe.  I can't imagine how Paul and Michelle felt.

When I was trying to resist touching her!

Adam and I were flying home that Sunday, so Paul and Michelle were very sweet and let me hold and feed Lenny before I left.  I even got to hold her before the grandparents...not to rub it in, but it was so awesome and just the best feeling.  Thank you Paul and Michelle!!  I was so happy!  She was so light, but she was pretty long so the best I can describe...she was like holding a pool noodle.  She felt like nothing!

And here's little buster on a play break at the hospital!
